Keyless entry/go

Does a keyless entry system mean I don't need a car key?
A remote keyless entry/go system in a car has door locks that open when an electronic key or card is nearby. If the key is in the driver’s pocket, the system recognises it and allows the doors to be opened. The engine can also be switched on if the key is in the driver’s pocket, usually by means of a start/stop button.
