Is the BMW Z4 M40i Handschalter the best grand tourer of 2024?
Can a manual gearbox and a convertible roof make this Z4 the best in its class?
Saying goodbye to the manual gearbox is a sad affair for motoring enthusiasts, and BMW is next to make the leap to an automatic future.
But before it does that, it's given us the BMW Z4 M40i Handschalter – a two-seater convertible sports car that aims to put a smile on the face of everyone who drives it.
In our full YouTube review, Sam Sheehan gets behind the wheel of this manual green BMW Z4 and shows us what it can do on a country road.
It can so easily be compared to a Porsche Boxster, but that's the easy way out. Instead, it could actually be more likened to the Mazda MX-5 for its engaging gearbox and a Bentley Continental GTC for its luxurious cabin.
What you need to know about the BMW Z4 M40i Handschalter:
It has a six-speed manual gearbox (for the first time in this generation)
