New 2025 Peugeot 308 facelift revealed

Peugeot has given the 308 a refreshed design, boosted efficiency and new colour options

Just three years after the third-generation 308 and 308 SW hit the roads, Peugeot's already giving its family favourite a mid-life glow-up, and it's not just a light facelift – there's a new front end, fresh colours and more electric range to talk about.

The headline act is the new illuminated Peugeot badge, which makes its debut on the facelifted 308 family, sitting in the middle of a redesigned, body-coloured grille.

Either side of the grille are new headlights – an update on the classic three-claw look – with the full-length claw mark-like daytime running light gone. Instead, with so many rivals opting for full-width light bars, Peugeot's decision to double down on its unique lighting motif makes the 308 instantly more aggressive and recognisable.

Peugeot's pulled all the usual tricks out of the bag in other places, including new diamond-cut alloy wheels, sportier black trim instead of chrome, new tail lights and two fresh shades of blue to brighten the line-up.

The 308 hatch gains a bold new Lagoa Blue, while the 308 SW is now available in the Ingaro Blue that so many Peugeot drivers have loved from other models (including the pre-facelift 308 hatchback).

Inside, Peugeot clearly takes an 'if it isn't broke...' approach to the cabin. The wide, 10-inch central touchscreen is still front and centre, backed up by five configurable i-Toggles for shortcuts and some extra physical shortcut buttons lower on the dash.

A digital driver's display with optional 3D graphics and eight-colour ambient lighting adds some depth and sportiness to the cabin, while hemp fibres in the dash and recycled plastics elsewhere quietly hide Peugeot's commitment to making the 308 more sustainable.

New Peugeot 308 engine options:

  • Hybrid 145 – a 1.2-litre mild hybrid with 145hp capable of driving around 50% of town journeys with the engine off, resulting in up to 50mpg

  • BlueHDi 130 – still a strong option for company car and fleet drivers, this diesel is paired with an eight-speed automatic

  • Plug-in Hybrid 195 – its 17.2kWh battery is good for up to 53 miles of pure electric range

  • E-308 – a 156hp motor gets power from a new, bigger 58.4kWh battery for 281 miles of range (up 23 miles from its predecessor), with three levels of regenerative braking available

New Peugeot 308 trim options:

  • Allure – entry-level model with rear parking sensors, reversing camera and supportive front seats, plus 17-inch alloys or 18-inch wheels on the E-308

  • GT – sportier looking version with matrix LED headlights and new illuminated grille, front parking sensors, leather-trimmed steering wheel and part-Alcantara trim

  • GT Premium – top-spec version that adds heated front seats trimmed in full Alcantara, a massaging driver's seat, 360-degree parking cameras and adaptive cruise control

New Peugeot 308 pricing:

Buying an electric version of the 308 isn't a huge deal more expensive than the Hybrid 145 model. Add to that the current availability of the Electric Car Grant and it actually becomes cheaper.

The more powerful Plug-in Hybrid model is the most expensive, but it offers the best of both worlds.

  • Allure – Hybrid 145 (£31,195), Plug-in Hybrid (£36,295), E-308 (£32,195)

  • GT – Hybrid 145 (£33,295), Plug-in Hybrid (£38,395), E-308 (£34,195)

  • GT Premium – Hybrid 145 (£34,895), Plug-in Hybrid (£40,395), E-308 (£35,995)
