Cupra Leon gets cheaper with new entry-level engines
New 150hp and 190hp models will be cheaper and more fuel efficient

Cupra has made the popular Leon an even more tempting choice by broadening its range of engines as the autumn arrives - in turn making the premium hatchback more affordable.
The new engines, which will be offered as a choice to buyers from October, are a 150hp 1.5-litre TSI and a 190hp 2.0-litre TSI.
These are clearly going to provide less of a punch, compared to the existing 245hp and 300hp engines that are already available. But as the UK faces a cost of living crisis, these less-powerful engines and their more affordable running costs will no doubt hold much appeal to some.

The new ‘V1’ entry-level trim, with the 1.5-litre engine, is also generously kitted out. You get 18-inch black and silver alloy wheels, 12-inch infotainment system that has satnav, smartphone integration, keyless entry, plus adaptive cruise control as standard. Expect more goodies when the higher-rank 2.0-litre engine is selected.
We won't know the exact prices and full details of the new models until further details are announced in the coming weeks, but things certainly look good. That said, they have done for a while, and the evidence is right here on cinch...
