The lengthy wait times for a new EV are nothing new, sadly. They've been ongoing for almost a year now due to supply chain issues. Covid (unsurprisingly) is one of the main factors, with lockdowns across the world causing huge issues for the supply chain. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has also had a huge impact on the production line. This is because key components are sourced from Ukraine, meaning manufacturers are not able to meet the huge demand for EVs.

Battery range
When eyeing up an electric car, it’s important to understand its range. This is measured in miles, and it’s simply the distance the car can travel on a full charge. Like petrol cars and their fuel consumption, range can depend on a number of factors. Your driving style plays a huge role, and the more efficiently you drive, the more miles you will get out of your battery.
It’s important to consider how much range you need. For some, 100+ miles of range is plenty for their city-driving habits, while others may require a bit more juice. Those drivers should look at cars with plenty of range (200+ miles) for longer journeys.

Charging
When it comes to charging up your EV, there are a couple of things you need to bear in mind – the time it would take to charge your car, and where you plan to charge it.
