How many miles will each Premier League team will travel over Christmas?
Being a football supporter takes dedication - but how far will fans actually travel this Christmas?
Premier League fans are set to travel over 7,000 miles to support their clubs over the festive fixtures, according to data from our study.
Fans of high-flying Liverpool will travel the furthest. Reds fans will be covering over 875 miles between 21 December and 1 January, thanks in big part to two trips to London to play Tottenham and West Ham.
Liverpool fans driving to the away games from Merseyside will average £122 in fuel per car over the festive season.
At the other end of the table, Fulham fans will only need to travel 4.7 miles thanks to all their games being in London over the Christmas and new year period. Their only away game is a highly anticipated derby with local neighbours Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
So, whether it’s a trip from north to south and back (twice) in a used Volkswagen or a short journey to your local rivals, here’s a look at the longest and shortest distances Premier League fans will need to cover to support their clubs on the road this Christmas:

The Gunners do have two away fixtures over Christmas but are against a pair of London rivals in Crystal Palace on Saturday 21 December and Brentford on New Year's Day.
And, at an average cost of just £7.81 in fuel per fan, that’s one less obstacle for fans getting behind Mikel Arteta’s side to try and close the gap to Liverpool at the top of the tree.
We’ve already mentioned that Liverpool fans have the furthest distance to travel for Premier League away days over Christmas, but fans of their Merseyside rivals Everton won’t have to travel anywhere near as far during the festive period.
In fact, the Toffees have just one away trip over Christmas and it’s a reasonable 74.7 miles away, or about £10.46 in fuel per fan. It is a tough one though – a visit to the Etihad Stadium on Boxing Day to play reigning champions Man City.
Supporters of Brentford (149.4 miles to travel) and Man United (149.8 miles) also don’t have long away day trips across the festive period compared to their Premier League rivals.
Sam Sheehan, our motoring editor, said: “Christmas is always a very busy time for football fans – and who doesn’t love the carnage of Boxing Day football? Whether your team’s in the Premier League or Sunday league, it’s a great tradition.
“This data shows the distances that supporters will go to get behind their beloved clubs, no matter the cost of the travel expenses or how bitter the winter weather becomes.”
