Land Rover Classic has revealed a limited edition V8 Defender called the Trophy II to celebrate its off-roading heritage. The vintage division is building just 25 examples, all by by hand, with prices starting at £225,000. Yes, you read that right.
That's supercar money, but the Trophy II (which, as its name suggests, follows the Trophy I) is a very special machine indeed - not least because each is built using the base of Land Rover's discontinued original Defender. Albeit from late 2012 to 2016 models, which will be stripped back and rebuilt into Trophy II specification.

Included in the upgrades is a specific handling kit (with full suspension and chassis changes), and bigger brakes, as the car will be built to harness the 405hp 5.0-litre petrol V8 engine. The monster unit should give the Trophy II a muscular voice, and then some.
To make this car even more of a beast, Land Rover Classic will also add a winch, a full-width LED light bar, rock sliders and a roll cage. It's the off-roading real-deal - and don't you just know it from one glance?

The interior has also been revamped with leather Recaro seats, white and black trim throughout the cabin, a Land Rover Classic infotainment system, and also a clock face designed by luxury British watchmaker, Elliot Brown.
Coventry-based Land Rover Classic has created a special camouflage paint job, that features 23 locations that have played a part in Land Rover's exploration adventures for more than 70 years.
If you have the money and you want to get your hands on a Defender V8 Trophy II, then you'll have to move fast. Old Defenders remain highly desirable (the new one is too) and such a special run of machines isn't going to go unnoticed. Even at £225k each.
