The Celebrity Traitors has taken the UK by storm, with more than 11 million Brits tuning in for the finale. Do the Faithfuls pick out all the Traitors, or do they slip through the cracks?

While Nick and Joe's bromance blossomed in the final episodes, so did searches for black Land Rovers – the chosen car used to transport the celebs to and from the castle.

The Traitors has resulted in a huge spike in interest for black Land Rovers on cinch.

During the 30 days of the series being on air (8 Oct - 6 Nov), the number of people using our search filters to view black Land Rovers jumped by 31% per day on average, compared to the previous 30 days (8 Sep - 7 Nov).

Black has consistently been the most popular colour for Land Rover buyers on cinch, but this soaring interest can be attributed to the 'Traitors effect'.

The cars used in the series were black Land Rover Defender 110s – one of the most popular Defender shapes. In many ways, the Defender was the real winner of The Traitors.

Ben Welham, our motoring expert, said: “This isn’t the first time we’ve seen TV drive car-buying interest, and the popularity of The Traitors has definitely made its mark.

"The black Land Rovers have become a key part of the show’s mood and mystery, and viewers are clearly buying into it. They’re not just admiring them on screen, but actively searching for them too, showing that when a car becomes part of a show’s character, it can lead to a real spike in demand.”

The second most popular colour of Land Rovers on cinch is white. Comparing the same two time periods, average daily searches for white versions of the SUV saw a relatively modest 6% increase.
