Nissan Juke

Nissan Juke front three quarters

The Nissan Juke is arguably one of the most recognisable Nissans on UK roads. The Juke made a splash when it first launched in 2010, with its bubbly shape and Marmite styling – and it’s gained a loyal following since then.

The latest model isn’t quite as curvy as the OG, but it’s still a good-looking car. The interior is flashy as well, though not so jazzy that you won’t want to use it as a family car.

Speaking of which, the 2025 model has a 422-litre boot that’s ideal for pushchairs, wheelchairs and suitcases.

There’s also a Juke Hybrid model as well, that gets up to 57.6mpg.

Nissan Qashqai

Nissan Qashqai

The Nissan Qashqai is one of the most popular SUVs on the market, and easily one of our most popular cars.

Ben Welham, our motoring journalist, took the Qashqai for a test drive and rated it four-and-a-half stars.

He said: “Hop into the 2024 Qashqai’s driving seat and it’ll feel quite a bit like the old model, in the best possible way.

“You sit nice and high off the road with plenty of adjustment in the seat to suit your preferred position.”

We’d recommend the hybrid Qashqai with the E-Power engine. It gets up to 54.3mpg on official stats, and is a smooth and comfortable drive.

Nissan Micra

Nissan Micra side

If there’s ever a day where the Nissan Micra isn’t on the roads, we’ll be heartbroken. Though the original petrol model has been discontinued, a used Micra is worth grabbing if you want something small and dependable.

Fortunately, a new Micra has just been re-launched as a fully electric city car, so you’ve now got plenty of iterations to choose from.

The OG fuel-powered model is reliable, easy to drive and efficient, with the manual models claiming up to 53.5mpg.

Meanwhile, the brand-new electric Micra can get up to 260 miles on a single charge.

Nissan Leaf

Nissan Leaf front

Speaking of electric Nissans, the Nissan Leaf is proof that the brand knows what it’s doing when it comes to EVs.

The Leaf has been a true leader in the electric car market for the masses. It was one of the first widely produced electric cars, but has now been discontinued to make way for a new generation.

Still, you can get a used Nissan Leaf for prices that make it one of the cheapest electric cars to buy today.

It’s a great step into the world of EVs, with arange of 80 to 239 miles – depending on the generation.

Nissan X-Trail

White Nissan X-Trail driving on tarmac road

If you want a Nissan but need more seats than SUVs like the Juke and Qashqai can offer, the Nissan X-Trail was made for you. Available as a seven or five-seater, it’s versatile for family life.

The seven-seater is spacious and comfortable, with a 485-litre boot in five-seat mode or 120 litres with seven seats in place.

You can also opt for the X-Trail e-Power – a hybrid option that pairs petrol and electric power. You’ll need to choose the e-4ORCE all-wheel drive model to get seven seats, as the front-wheel drive hybrid is only available as a five-seater.

Nissan 370Z

A blue Nissan 370z Heritage Edition

A bit of a rogue one, but the ‘best Nissan cars’ list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning one of the iconic sporty models.

The 370Z is a V6 sports car that carries the legacy of the 350Z. The 3.7-litre V6 engine is spicy and comes as a 328hp model or 355hp from the Nismo performance model.

The interior is centered on driving and brings none of the distractions that modern motorists face. There’s a small infotainment screen, but everything is minimal and cockpit-esque.

The 235-litre boot is where it might fall flat for some drivers, but the engine and performance might be enough to sway naysayers.

Nissan Note

Nissan Note exterior

The Nissan Note is another of the brand’s discontinued heroes that’s worth tracking down on the used market.

It’s easy to live with, comfortable and practical for its size. The interior is simple but has everything you’d need for daily life, so it’s ideal if you want something minimalist and functional.

Sam Sheehan, our motoring editor, said: “There’s an argument to say the world would be a much better, kinder place if everyone drove Nissan Notes – it has such a soothing effect on your outlook whenever you're in it.

“And really, most people don’t need anything more than a Nissan Note – it’s simply that useful.”
