BMW 1 Series fuel economy

Pick a BMW 1 Series model with impressive MPG , and you’re pretty much set. But there are a few simple things you can do to maximise that magic MPG number.

  • Shed some extra weight (from the car, of course) to make your load lighter and use less fuel

  • Drive efficiently by braking smoothly, sticking to the speed limit, and avoiding putting your foot down

  • Use fewer gadgets – air conditioning, heated seats and other car tech can eat through fuel quicker

  • Keep your tyres pumped to the proper level to dodge rolling resistance

  • Plan your route to keep things efficient – your 1 Series will use less fuel on motorways versus city streets with plenty of traffic

BMW 1 Series eco features

It’s not just driving and MPG ratings that make for an efficient 1 Series – other tech can help you out as well.

The BMW Live Cockpit Pro is a helpful extra that shows key info like speed, mileage, posted speed limits, and fuel gauge.

BMW also introduced the option of mild-hybrid tech in 1 Series from 2024 to use even less fuel.
