JAECOO 7 vs. Nissan Qashqai: styling

Close-up of JAECOO 7's front grille and Nissan Qashqai's rear with e-POWER badge in contrasting white and red colors. The JAECOO 7 leans into that classic rugged, premium SUV look – a space Land Rover has been dominating in for far too long.

Its design combines upright proportions, strong body lines and a bold face, giving it a proper SUV look.

The Nissan Qashqai, on the other hand, adopts a sharper, more contemporary design inspired by the all-electric Nissan Ariya.

A recent facelift introduced a cascading grille, sleeker LED lighting and redesigned bumpers, giving it a more urban, polished aesthetic.

JAECOO 7 vs. Nissan Qashqai: what are they like to drive?

Two SUVs on separate roads: a silver JaeCoo 7 navigating a rural landscape, and a red Nissan Qashqai on a winding mountain road. The JAECOO 7 is available as a petrol or plug‑in hybrid (PHEV) – the latter is called the SHS (Super Hybrid System) and has 56 miles of electric-only range.

It’s designed with off‑road ability in mind, offering AWD, good torque figures and suspension components derived from rugged SUV engineering. This makes it stable, versatile and suited to mixed‑terrain driving.

The Nissan Qashqai focuses on refinement and hybrid efficiency, especially with the advanced e‑POWER hybrid system, which returns around 64.2mpg and feels more like an EV than a hybrid.

The 2025 model’s updated e‑POWER setup improves responsiveness and overall driving refinement, making it better suited to everyday comfort rather than off‑road toughness.
