Jaguar F-PACE vs. Jaguar E-PACE: which has more style?

jaguar e-pace and f-pace drivingThey may look very similar, but both cars are actually very different. The best way to look at the lineup is to think of the Jaguar F-PACE as the older brother to the E-PACE, coming in at a higher price and with a more grown-up look.

The F-PACE has a large grille and a face not dissimilar to a whale shark’s gawping mouth and is an overall more imposing car, much like a baby Range Rover.

Whereas the E-PACE is a smaller car, and looks a bit like the Evoque. It’s almost more hatchback-shaped like the Porsche Macan.

Both are finished in high-quality paint colours, with chrome accents adding a classier look.

What’s it like to drive a Jaguar F-PACE vs. E-PACE?

jaguar e-pace and f-pace drivingJaguar is most known for making sporty cars like the F-Type and older models like the E-Type, and some of this pedigree has trickled down into its modern SUVs today.

The E-PACE, for example, is the smaller car and a bit lighter on its feet, available with either a petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engine.

Most versions of the E-PACE come with four-wheel drive, but if you want a front-wheel drive model, opt for the entry-level P160 petrol engine.

Being heavier, the standard F-PACE isn’t as nimble but is very competent around corners and generally handles well.

Move up to the F-PACE SVR, which houses a monstrous 5.0-litre V8 with 550hp, and you can have one of the most impressive SUVs on the market – especially when it comes to driving dynamics.

What technology is in the Jaguar E-PACE and F-PACE?

jaguar e-pace and f-pace interiorsYou may think both interiors are the same, but there are a few differences that are worth noting.

Firstly, the E-PACE's cabin is heavily influenced by the F-Type. Both get the same 12.3-inch central screen and a clearly very driver-focused cockpit.

Then there’s the F-PACE, which more closely resembles the luxurious XE and XF cabins. This means it gets a more modern feel with more premium touches, as you’d expect from it being the more expensive car.

Jaguar E-PACE vs. F-PACE dimensions and boot space

Their names may be one letter apart, but their sizes are certainly more than that.

Jaguar E-PACE dimensions:

  • Length: 4395mm

  • Width: 1900mm

  • Height: 1648mm

  • Boot space: 577 litres

Jaguar F-PACE dimensions:

  • Length: 4747mm

  • Width: 1936mm

  • Height: 1664mm

  • Boot space: 650 litres

E-PACE vs. F-PACE: which is more reliable?

Historically, this section has always been a little bit touch and go – Jaguar doesn’t have the best reliability. Luckily, recent cars have proven much better.

Both cars are well-built and now Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is owned by TATA Motors, the overall quality and dependability has increased.

Which is more reliable? It’s hard to say as both cars are so similar. We’d say they’re both on the same level. As long as your car has a full service history and is regularly maintained, you should be fine.
