article hero

If you appreciate a car that has a distinctive look with plenty of room inside, the Jeep Cherokee is calling your name.

It’s the make’s second-largest SUV, coming up just behind – you guessed it – the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Whether you think it’s attractive or not will depend on your own taste and preferences. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all.

But how does the Jeep Cherokee fare when it comes to boot space? Let’s find out.

What are the Jeep Cherokee's boot dimensions?

The Jeep Cherokee is a great choice of car for those who regularly transport a lot of people and cargo.

If you’ve got tall passengers in the back and they require adequate legroom, you can slide the rear bench back as far as it will go and still utilise 570 litres of boot space.

This is more than what the Audi Q3 and Ford Kuga can offer with their seats up (530 litres and 475 litres respectively).

If your rear passengers are on the shorter side, you can slide the rear seats forward and increase the available room to 714 litres.

Need even more space? No problem. Ditch the passengers completely and fold the rear seats down to access 1,267 litres of luggage room.

Jeep Cherokee boot dimensions

  • Max. boot space (rear sets upright): 714 litres

  • Max. boot space (rear seats folded): 1,267 litres

  • Boot width: 1,000mm

How big is the Jeep Cherokee's boot?

The size of the Jeep Cherokee boot can be quite flexible – you can utilise more or less space depending on the situation at hand.

Family staycation with the little ones? Slide the back seats forward and there’s 713 litres of space for your luggage.

Moving house or making a trip to pick up some flatpack furniture? The seats can be folded flat to reveal 1,267 litres of space. Plenty of room for boxes, bags, and belongings.

Even with the seats down, however, the Jeep Cherokee boot space struggles to compete with the likes of the Škoda Octavia Estate (1,700 litres) or the Volvo XC90 (1,856 litres).

However, if the need for a huge boot isn’t a regular occurrence for you, you should be fine.

How many seats are there in a Jeep Cherokee?

Unlike many rivals, the Jeep Cherokee only comes as a five-seat SUV.

Although it’s unavailable as a seven-seater, it’s still a decent mid-sized SUV that offers comfort and practicality.

Its size is on par with the BMW X3 and Audi Q5, although their boot sizes specifically are a little more generous.

If you’re not too reliant on maximum boot space, the Jeep Cherokee is still a fantastic choice of 4x4 that that should fit into your daily routine with ease.
