Jeep Renegade boot space: how big and how wide?

The Jeep Renegade is a practical off-roader that can tackle any type of terrain. But can its boot handle all your essentials?

SUVs are excellent options if you’re used to driving through muddy country lanes and on tricky terrain.

However, less adventurous drivers may feel put off by an SUV’s dimensions.

Fortunately, we have the Jeep Renegade.

A used Jeep Renegade comes with all the benefits of an SUV but with a compact body and more practical design. And, of course, there’s the option of a 4x4 option – it is a Jeep, after all!

Launched in 2014, the Renegade is one of Jeeps smallest and most affordable models. This makes it a great option for motorists of all abilities.

Are space and boot size your main priorities? If so, then the Jeep Renegade has sufficient room.

What are the Jeep Renegade boot dimensions?

The Jeep Renegade has several exciting trim levels, including Limited, Longitude and TrailHawk.

While all are comfortable and good-looking, each model has its own features – all you need to do is consider which features you want in your car.

For example, the Renegade Limited comes with privacy glass on the rear windows, leather upholstery and wireless smartphone charging.

The Renegade also comes with three different powertrains – petrol, diesel and hybrid.

Hybrid is a great option if you want to utilise electric power while along busy city streets, but retain the option to use the car’s internal combustion engine for longer drives.

As well as affecting your car’s fuel economy, engines affect the size of your Renegade’s boot.

Jeep Renegade petrol and diesel dimensions

  • Load width: 1,025mm circa

  • Boot space with seats upright: 351 litres

  • Boot space with seats folded: 1,297 litres

Jeep Renegade hybrid dimensions

  • Load width: 1,000mm circa

  • Boot space with seats upright: 330 litres

  • Boot space with seats folded: 1,277 litres

The Jeep Renegade hybrid has a slightly smaller boot, but this is common among cars with an electric battery.

If you prefer this eco-conscious model, it still offers plenty of space.

How big is a Jeep Renegade boot?

When it comes to boot dimensions, the Renegade has a modest offering of boot space, especially with all the back seats in place.

However, it has a neat and practical shape, making it easy to slot in your belongings without any trouble.

With the back bench upright, a petrol- or diesel-powered Jeep Renegade will provide you with 351 litres of space.

If that’s not quite enough, fold it down – you’ll get a capacity of 1,297 litres. That's enough to fit in a washing machine, should you need or want to.

Keen on the hybrid version? You’ll enjoy 330 litres with the rear seats up and 1,277 litres with them down.

How many seats are in a Jeep Renegade?

The Jeep Renegade is a five-seater SUV, with loads of legroom in the front cabin.

The back isn’t as roomy, but if you have young travellers on board, that rear area will suit them just fine.

The Renegade has ISOFIX points to make it easier and safer to install child car seats in the back of the cabin.

Plus, there are tether anchors to help keep them safe in the event of sudden stops.

The good thing about the Renegade is that it has an upright body shape, so even taller passengers will have enough headroom to relax on long motorway drives.
