What is the MINI Chili Pack?
Adding more flavour to your car with the MINI Chili Pack
MINI Chili Pack explained
The Chili Pack – often referred to as the ‘Mini Chilli Pack’ – is a popular optional extra you'll see often when shopping for a Mini.
With extra features to make your used Mini even more premium, it adds a bit of extra kick to the Pepper Pack, which is also popular with buyers.
Differences between the Chili Pack and Pepper Pack
The Pepper and Chili packs upgrade your Mini with extra tech, comfort and even storage upgrades.
While the Pepper Pack is considered a more entry-level option, it still brings a solid range of upgrades if you tick it on the options sheet.
The Chili Pack then takes it a step further, with additional extras on top of what the Pepper Pack offers, but it's also more expensive.
These option packs were available on Mini cars from 2001 to 2018, alongside the Salt Pack, which, as the name suggests, had a bit less flavour.

Benefits of the MINI Chili Pack
Mini is well known for its customisation options, and options like the Chili Pack are ideal for making your car feel a bit more ‘you’.
The additional Chili driving modes mean you can get the most out of your drives. An efficient ‘Green’ mode is perfect for daily commutes, and you can easily switch into ‘Sport’ mode if you want to feel the full effect of your Mini’s performance.
An onboard computer with a speedo pod sits right in front of the driver and has classic Mini styling. It’s useful as you drive, but more so, it just looks quirky with true Mini vibes.
There are also the extras that come with the Pepper Pack that the Chili builds on, with the additional Excitement Pack being a standout feature.
The Excitement Pack gives you a fun little moment when the car is unlocked, shining a Mini logo onto the ground from the car’s wing mirrors.
While the Chili Pack is a more expensive add-on, it can be worth it if you want to experience all that Mini has to offer.
You can also find used cars with the Chili Pack, and these will typically cost less than purchasing brand-new.
In fact, you can no longer buy the Chili Pack or the Pepper Pack on brand-new Mini cars, so you’ll have to shop on the used market to experience them. The brand now offers packs such as the Classic, Sport, and Exclusive as replacements.
