Vauxhall Corsa boot space: how big and how wide?

The Vauxhall Corsa comes in many different models and makes for an excellent first car. But is it spacious enough to fit a new driver’s essentials?

You can’t go wrong with a reliable and sleek used Vauxhall Corsa. In fact, it’s one of the UK’s best-selling cars.

It’s affordable, has a sporty design, and has an efficient 1.0-litre engine. What more could you want?

Perfect for new drivers and seasoned motorists alike, the Corsa will ferry you confidently around city streets and country roads. And, thanks to its stylish looks, the new 2020 model is bound to make pedestrians gaze enviously too!

Its swooping headlights and striking radiator grille ooze personality, while the interior has all you need to enjoy those longer motorway journeys.

Space-wise, the Vauxhall Corsa’s boot gives you reasonable room to store your stuff safely, so family road trips and supermarket stops will never end with unpleasant surprises.

In the UK, the Corsa carries the Vauxhall badge, but if you’re road-tripping around Europe, you’ll notice that the same model wears the Opel logo instead.

What are the Vauxhall Corsa boot dimensions?

We have no doubt you’ll have seen many Vauxhall Corsa cars cruising around town. It’s a very popular hatchback, and for good reason.

It has a huge range of trim levels to choose from, including Design, GS Line and Ultimate, so there’s a model and colour for all tastes.

Some of the newer versions come with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay connectivity, which will help make the ride that bit more enjoyable. And, in this respect, German magazine Auto Bild celebrated the Corsa with the Connected Car Award to recognise its technological innovations within the automotive sector.

The Corsa also has different types of engine options, including petrol, diesel and electric. As well as determining how green your travels are, engines have an impact on your Vauxhall Corsa’s boot size too.

Fuel-powered Vauxhall Corsa dimensions

  • Boot width: 1,000mm circa

  • Boot capacity (rear seats upright): 309 litres

  • Boot capacity (rear seats folded): 1,118 litres

Electric Vauxhall Corsa dimensions

  • Boot width: 1,000mm circa

  • Boot capacity (rear seats upright): 267 litres

  • Boot capacity with (rear seats folded): 1,081 litres

The electric Corsa has a reduced amount of space in the boot =, and this is down to the location of the batteries.

So, if you need that extra space, a petrol or diesel model might suit you better.

How long is a Vauxhall Corsa?

  • Length: 4,060mm

How wide is a Vauxhall Corsa?

  • Width (without mirrors): 1,746mm

  • Width (with mirrors): 1,944mm

How big is a Vauxhall Corsa boot?

The boot opening of a Vauxhall Corsa is relatively narrow and features a tall-ish load lip.

That doesn’t impact its spaciousness – in fact, for a standard hatchback, it’s pretty generous.

With a fuel-powered Corsa, you’ll benefit from 309 litres of space, which can extend to 1,118 litres with a folded back bench.

That’s plenty of room to carry your kids’ school bags or your own sports equipment. You should also have enough space to fit a foldable wheelchair.

If you opt for an electric Corsa-e, you won’t be able to carry as much, but with a capacity of 267 litres with your seats up and a good 1,081 litres when they’re flat, you’ll still have ample space for your weekly shopping.

How many seats in a Vauxhall Corsa?

The Vauxhall Corsa has room for five passengers – two at the front and three at the back. All new models have five doors, while older versions might come with three instead.

The Corsa’s well-designed cabin provides plenty of room for you and your travellers – especially at the front.

Taller passengers won’t enjoy as much space at the back, but your energetic little ones will have more than enough.

The Corsa is a multifunctional car, so it has all you need to keep your kids protected as you hit the road. It comes with ISOFIX points on the outer rear seats, meaning you can install two child seats at the back to keep them safe en route.

There are lots of storage spots dotted inside the car too. It has a glovebox, large door bins and four cupholders to keep you and your passengers hydrated on your daily commutes.

As Ford discontinued production of its iconic Fiesta in July 2023, the Vauxhall Corsa is an excellent choice for drivers of all abilities.
