Brits traffic warning: 19 million extra cars to hit the road as schools break for summer
Experts have also predicted which roads will see the most traffic
Fresh from the scorching heat of the recent heatwaves, UK motorists are bracing themselves for their next challenge – school's out for summer!
Most schools in England and Wales are about to break up for summer, which sparks the holiday season for many households. The RAC is predicting that this will prompt the arrival of almost 19 million extra cars to hit the road this weekend.
To be precise, from Friday (22 June) to Monday (25 June) there will be 18.82 million separate leisure trips, according to the RAC.
This is the highest volume of traffic since they began tracking these numbers back in 2014 – so you've been warned!
Saturday is expected to be the busiest of all the days, with 4.6 million separate journeys, while Friday and Sunday are expected to be marginally quieter with 4.29 million.
